Easter family holidays to Barbados

Easter is one of the very best times of year to take the kids to Barbados. The two week break from school means you can make the most of flying long haul (although direct flights are a very manageable eight and a half hours), and the weather is generally fabulous with temperatures of around 29°C, plenty of sunshine, and balmy evenings ideal for taking advantage of those famous white-sand beaches.

Easter family holidays to Barbados

As well as lots to do in an array of family-friendly resorts (scroll down for Easter 2024 deals at some of our favourites), this sociable, fun-loving island is packed with wonderful things to try out together as a family. We 100% recommend a trip to Harrison’s Cave Eco-Adventure Park with its underground electric tram tour, taking in streams, waterfalls, and the magnificent, sparkling stalactite and stalagmite formations of the caves themselves. For the thrill seeker, there is zip wiring, and an obstacle course to test your flexibility and awareness.

Other unmissable activities in Barbados include snorkelling trips to swim close to hawksbill, leatherback, and green sea turtles, or to look down at shipwrecks, aboard catamarans taking you along the Platinum Coast. We also love the Flower Forest Botanical Gardens on a former sugar plantation, with a lovely trail to follow plus a café serving flying-fish sandwiches and homemade rum punch. We can organise car hire for seeing the island in its full glory, including the less touristy, more rugged Atlantic Coast which is famous for its amazing surfing beaches.
